Sausage-Making Workshop
The Maui Portuguese Cultural Club recently hosted a hands-on Portuguese sausage-making workshop led by John Torres of Haiku, Maui. It was a full day dedicated to learning, sharing knowledge, and enjoying one of the delicious traditions of Portuguese cuisine.
Learning the Art of Sausage-Making
From cutting and slicing the ingredients to mixing, stuffing, and smoking the sausage, participants experienced the entire sausage-making process from start to finish. Under John’s guidance, members worked together throughout the day to create incredibly delicious Portuguese sausage.
For some members, the workshop was an opportunity to build on their existing sausage-making skills and share in a tradition they already knew well. For others, it was a chance to finally learn the process and experience sausage-making firsthand.

A Day of Food, Friendship & Tradition
The workshop brought members together for a day of hands-on learning, teamwork, and good food. Whether they came with years of experience or were trying sausage-making for the first time, everyone had the opportunity to participate, learn something new, and enjoy the experience together.
